Once again, on one of this occasions, Limau really regrets that he has come to training on an extremely full stomach! UGH. It hurts, really. Kesenakan yang teramat sangat.
Today's training was kinda subdued coz there weren't that many karate-kas today. Today's training covered learning a new type of block, and its the first time i learned bout it too! Sensei also put us through a reflex exercise.
And a little bit bout training reflexes....
Sensei: If you want to train your reflexess, ask your friend to punch you. Anywhere! Then try to block it. :D
Later it was kata time! Every karate-ka went through all their belt-required kata. From the white up! It was.... exhaust time, with fumes pouring out the nostrils of the karate-kas...
NOTE: Learn your kata.
COMITTEE COVERAGE
Well, yesterday (09/09/09), there was a mini-comittee meeting to elect the new club comittee.
President: Rijal
Vice-president: Yong Kang
Secretary: Limau
Vice-secretary: Ehab
Treasurer: Nadzirah
Quartermaster: Danial
Promotion, media and public relations (MOST IMPORTANT) *drum rolls*: RAZIQ
Other AJKS: *to be updated*
hehheh. Well, we're kinda dictatorship'ish at the moment, due to the fact that there aren't really that much going on other than weekly trainings and the UNITEN HEP would rather reject our proposals for any other activity than not.
BTW, we're up for suggestions for extra-club-activities. :P If there are any suggestions, just post it up.

Our Secret Weapon!
Once during your karate career, you are bound to this awe-inspiring scenario:>
KATA! I FORGOT! WAAAGH! (WAAAGH from Dawn of War 'Orcs') hehheh.
Out comes secret weapon 1 : Ask your sensei (kinda fool proof)
Secret weapon 2: Ask your senpai
SECRET WEAPON 3: http://www.shitokai.com/
Here there are lots of materials about karate and videos for kata referrence. So far, the shito-ryu shinsei is missing (or non-existant in shito-kai) in the website.
Happy kata days!

Training Pundits! -13/09/2009-
From limau's desk:
In the midst of gruesome screaming and wailing, Limau thought that something within the karate-kas would break by the end of the session. However, we were pushed forward. With our hearts filled with the determination of convicts facing death , we pushed, and pushed, and.... *exxagerating* :D
btw, my boss wants to change his name! so...
ONIBAKU = RAZIQ
ONBKU = RZQ
Today was basically the 'STREEEETCH'. Lots and lots of stretches. Especially the legs. Very dangerous. There were wails. Lots of it.
a few samples:
LIMAU: AHHHH, OOOOOH
RAZIQ: HAHAHAHA *YES! MY BOSS LAUGHED DURING STRETCHING
RIJAL-RYU: he didnt say anything. PFFFFFT!
KWAN: WOI!
MOSTLY: SCREEEAM!
Lastly, did some recap with the white-belt kata. After rijal-ryu's tazkirah, we called it a day.
Rifal ryu: Never start a conflict. Evade or block.
Limau's intepretation: After phase 1 evasion, incapacitate your attacker via pepper spray. :D *kidding*
It was fun! Serius! No joke. Limau watches the sky *there is the full moon today*, wonders when the next karate training will be. Sigh (Sentimental music please).
Btw, r@ziq will be sharing pics a bit bout tonight's training. Say a few words too, k. :P

Tonite was fun! Too bad sensei wasnt there... awesometh-high-5 to all that came! - raziq

Going to tarawikh is sunat, in sunnah Rasulullah saw. *important, no doubt.
Learning to defend ourselves is also sunat. *In fact, from what I know, very important too*
So, choose wisely....hohoho. :D
*im not really implying anything here....*

Shitoryu's Heian Shodan
So a few weeks earlier I started trying to find out whats next for me after I received my yellow belt and according to the senpais and sensei, I will have to learn Heian Shodan. Being the good karateka padawan myself, I decided to check out videos of it on the web.
Now, we all know of this nifty Shitoryu site www.shitokai.com. However to watch the videos there you have to download the Apple Quicktime plugin and I wasnt gonna do that so I headed over to youtube and started searching for Heian Shodan....
...which got me tons of "SHOTOKAN" Heian Shodan videos but no Shitoryu's (Shotokan's Heian Shodan is very different from Shitoryu's). Which was baffling to the say the least... Is Shitoryu that unpopular?
As it turns out, today while surfing the web for some karate photos to make a banner out of (hopefully soon) I stumbled upon this very enlightening photo...
To summarize what it says: "Heian" used to be called "Pinan" back in the days. Aaaandd as it turns out also, there ARE quite a few of Pinan Shodan videos on youtube. So yes.
Learn something new -every- day.
